The standard VAT rate in Belgium is 21%<\/strong> and applies to most gardening work.<\/p>

This includes the design, layout and maintenance of green spaces, as well as the installation of outdoor structures.
This rate covers services such as mowing, hedge trimming, pruning and garden creation.<\/p>

Routine gardening services, whether regular or one-off, are subject to this 21% rate.

The reduced rate of 6%<\/strong> applies in Belgium to the purchase of plants and horticultural products<\/strong>.
This includes trees, shrubs, flowers, perennials, vegetable plants and seeds.
This measure aims to make horticultural products more accessible, encourage biodiversity and promote fairness in the horticultural sector.<\/p>

However, this reduced rate of 6% only applies to the purchase of plants.
